HAELO - Website, App and Branding

UX/UI Design / Visual Design
One of my recent projects was the website and branding design for the company HAELO Inc. who produce a device called HAELO. HAELO is a healthcare/wellness device that uses
pulse-electromagnetic-sound-frequencies (PEMF) which simulates earth's naturally occurring magnetically produced sound frequencies. The effects of these frequencies have been studied and documented by numerous academic institutions and the likes of NASA. In layman's terms the earth generates various pulsed sounds frequencies which humans have evolved with and are in turn affected by. The HAELO device generates the same sort of pulsed frequencies which have been composed, layered, and tweaked to stimulate the body and mind in beneficial ways. Other devices on the market use PEMF tech but HAELO does so more powerfully and provides multiple tracks which overlap composed frequencies by experts in the field.

I was responsible for all UX, UI, Visual Design, Branding and creating other deliverables. Throughout the process I learned a lot about working with a client that was both perfectionistic and unclear about how to present their unique product to the world.
Website Design
Early Stages
After completing the logo design and the Brand Book I accepted the contract to design HAELO's website and Quick Start Guide manual.

Work on the site began with meetings about what vision the client had for HAELO and who they hoped would become their customers. I developed personas that represented potential buyers of the device and the lifestyle of the brand.
After creating the personas I compared and studied other sites offering similar medical devices and lifestyle branding. These sites included light therapy from Joovv, sound therapy by Muse, and the the branding of Molekule. Based on this research I began making wireframes in collaboration with team HAELO. We decided on a site built around four main pages: Home, Product, About and App pages.
After numerous iterations, planning and meetings with the client these wireframes developed into high fidelity designs and then into the final website design. The difficulty / problem that had to be overcome during this process was creating a site geared towards the developed personas that represented younger / middle-aged athletically focused users and older users concerned with overall health and mental well-being.
Quick Start Guide
Print Design
Aside from the site design I was also tasked with the design of the Quick Start Guide manual that shipped with the device. This included information about the company and their mission, illustrations, how to use the device and basic setup with the downloaded app.
Having completed my work for the client I felt very fortunate to work on this interesting project promoting a device using interesting technology I had never heard of before. Producing a website that benefited the company and the end-user made the journey well worth the effort.
